Best in Show: Our top smart home picks from IFA 2026

It’s that time of year again where some of the biggest names across tech venture to IFA to showcase their latest and greatest innovations at the annual IFA exhibit. 

The Ambient team has been on the ground at the Berlin-based tech show, in the hunt to find the latest and most exciting smart home products. 

From robot lawn mowers and security cameras to innovative dart boards, we’ve rounded up the top gadgets from IFA 2026 that deserve a Best in Show credit.

AWOL Lux Vision

AWOL’s LuxVision projector is designed for home cinema enthusiasts, as it’s the world’s first 4K, 120Hz ultra-short-throw projector with optical shift. With support for screens up to 200-inches, 6000 ISO lumens and a 0.18:1 throw ratio, the projector promises flagship-grade home entertainment.

Having said that, this isn’t just for watching movies. In fact, gamers will appreciate its 1ms input lag and the fact Dolby Vision Gaming, ALLM and VRR are all present too. 

It’s a mighty projector that has the price tag to match, with an MSRP of $5,999/£4,999.

Who needs to splurge on a costly sky light installation, when Govee offers a much more affordable alternative? The 21-inch Sky Ceiling Light has a color temperature range of 1000K to 10,000K that offers incredible versatility, which means it can fit seamlessly into any room that needs extra light.

Its Sunlight rhythm mode also promises to support your natural circadian rhythm by recreating the natural flow of daylight across the entire day. Plus, it’s flicker-free and certified low-grade too, so it’s easy on the eyes.

Govee Sky Ceiling Light

The latest addition to Reolink’s OMVI series, the 2i Ultra security camera is made up of two separate cameras that work together to give you a wider overview of your scene. While the 8MP wide-view lens offers a wide shot, the 5MP pan-tilt camera offers a 355° pan and 50° tilt for detecting and tracking objects and intruders. 

Reolink also promises the camera sees up to six months of power on a single charge and comes equipped with a built-in 6W solar panel for better charging efficiency too – even in low-light conditions.

With AdaptiLift Chassis 3.0 tech and a dedicated climbing arm, the Saros 20 Neo can lift itself up and over high thresholds while its retractable LDS system allows the robot to squeeze under low-lying furniture.

UGREEN HomeAgent HA100 Pro

UGREEN wants to make controlling all your smart home devices much easier, with the HomeAgent Pro. Hailed as being a “living local intelligence”, the HomeAgent Pro connects everything from security cameras and video doorbells to speakers together into one easy-to-use ecosystem.

It’ll then send you notifications for things like the doorbell being pressed and a potential intruder, while keeping everything stored locally so you don’t need to pay for any hefty subscriptions.

The UGREEN HomeAgent is currently available to reserve from $50 ahead of its official Kickstarter campaign launch from October 27th.

ANTHBOT R7 Series Robot Lawn Mower

Anthbot’s R7 Series boasts the title of being the world’s first robot mower to deliver true zero-edge trimming. That means it trims and tidies up along walls, fences and flower beds without the need for manual touch-ups. That means households will no longer need to go and manually touch up missed patches along difficult areas like flower beds or fences.

After raising over a massive $2.1 million on Kickstarter, xLean has unveiled the TR1 – the world’s first agentic dual-form washing robot. Able to swap from a cordless handheld to a robot in a matter of seconds, the TR1 works to clean spills and mixed wet-and-dry messes in just one pass. That means you can either set the robot to clean up general mess, while the handheld mode means you can quickly clear up targeted spots.

With four wide-angle cameras, a bidirectional driving system and a dedicated edge trimmer, the Mammotion Luba 4 AWD robot lawn mower is a seriously mighty device that’ll suit those with larger lawns brilliantly. 

If you’re nervous about leaving your precious lawn in the hands of a robot then worry not, as the Luba 4 AWD promises to prioritise lawn health with its driving system that keeps grass upright and undamaged during mowing. Plus, its system detects over 300 object types and can actively avoid them in real time too.
