ADT will install Apple’s HomeView hub in US homes this autumn

Apple has turned to ADT for professional installation of the wall-mounted HomeView hub, with technicians fitting the panel and accessories in US homes this autumn.

The arrangement confirms an earlier report from 10 October that pointed to a possible tie-up between the two companies, three days before Apple announced the hub alongside a wider range of third-party accessories.

Beyond the hub itself, ADT technicians can fit the Apple Home Collection accessories from LG and Schneider Home, along with other eligible smart home products, across what Apple’s website describes as “most areas” of the US.

LG’s accessories in that range depend on an Apple home hub to work, and HomeView now joins HomePod, HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K as one of the devices that can fill that role.

Installation work of this kind is familiar territory for ADT, which has installed Google Nest cameras, doorbells and thermostats since a 2020 partnership that saw Google take a stake in the US security company.

Apple’s arrival alongside Google gives wall-mount buyers an alternative to drilling and bracket fitting, a step that most smart displays from Amazon and Google avoid by sitting on a shelf or counter.

Wall mounting and Schneider Home brackets

The wall-mounted model shares the 7-inch display of the tabletop version and comes in Space Grey or Silver, two finishes Apple also uses across its Mac and iPad ranges, with speaker holes along its bottom edge.

Three purpose-built mounts from Schneider Home attach the hub to a wall, and buyers can fit those brackets themselves or pay an additional charge to have ADT technicians handle the job instead.

The tabletop version needs no fitting at all, which leaves ADT’s work centred on the wall-mounted hub and hardwired devices such as wired video doorbells and smart deadbolts that require drilling or electrical work.

Pricing and US availability

Both versions of the hub cost $299 (£299) in the US, and Apple has not yet confirmed UK pricing or whether ADT installation will extend beyond the American market.

Apple has set ADT installation to begin in the US this autumn without a specific start date, and ADT has published further details on the service through its own installation website.
