Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 review

Verdict

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 delivers flagship-grade cleaning at a more approachable price. Its powerful 35,000Pa suction works brilliantly across carpets and hard floors, while the roller mop deals effectively with most everyday stains. Tougher, dried-on marks may need a spray of detergent first, but that is still easier than scrubbing them by hand.
Navigation and obstacle avoidance are excellent, while the comprehensive dock empties the bin, washes and dries the mop, and automatically dispenses detergent.
There are compromises. The app lacks a mop-only mode, the fixed LiDAR dome limits access beneath low furniture and the exposed roller is not ideal for deep-pile carpets. For predominantly hard-floor homes, or those with short-pile carpet, however, the E35 is an excellent mid-range choice.

Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35: Introduction

  • Type: Robot vacuum and mop
  • Docking: Self-clean, self-empty
  • Navigation system: LiDAR

Roller mops were once reserved for expensive flagship robot vacuums, but the technology is quickly filtering down to the mid-range. The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is one of the latest examples, offering features you’d expect on a high-end vacuum at a more friendly price.

It faces strong competition, particularly from the Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 Flow. Yet excellent suction, powerful mopping and dependable navigation make the E35 a compelling all-rounder. The real question is not whether it cleans well, but which premium features you are willing to sacrifice.

Design and features

  • Powerful 35,000Pa suction
  • Self-cleaning roller mop
  • Excellent obstacle detection
  • Large, fully featured dock

Following the premium Eufy Omni S2, the E35 offers a similar core feature set without quite the same polish. Its design is closer to the older Omni E25, with a bulkier robot and more functional-looking docking station.

It may lack the S2’s smooth curves and slimmer profile, but the E35 is impressively well equipped for the price.

The large dock has separate clean- and dirty-water tanks, both of which lift out from the top for easy emptying and refilling.

It also has a refillable detergent reservoir, rather than relying on proprietary pre-filled cartridges.

That gives you the option of using your own compatible floor cleaner, although Eufy includes detergent in the box so you can start immediately. It is a useful feature that is missing from the cheaper Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 Flow.

Below the water tanks is a disposable 3-litre dust bag, which Eufy says can hold around 75 days’ worth of dirt. Actual capacity will depend on the size of your home and how often the robot runs, but the dock should require relatively little attention.

The robot itself is chunky, with a fixed LiDAR dome on top. Unlike the Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 Flow, which can retract its sensor, the E35 may struggle to fit beneath low sofas, cabinets and sideboards.

Physical buttons let you start cleaning or send the robot back to its dock, although most controls are found in the Eufy app.

At the front is Eufy’s A.I.See 3.0 camera array. This combines an RGB camera, side-mounted laser and automatic LED light to identify and avoid up to 280 types of object.

Lifting the top panel provides access to the onboard bin and filter. The filter requires occasional cleaning, but the dock’s automatic emptying system means you should rarely need to handle the bin itself.

Underneath is the HydroJet 2.0 self-cleaning mop roller. Fresh water is continuously fed onto the roller while collected dirt is removed, helping to prevent contaminated water from being spread back across the floor.

Once cleaning is complete, the dock washes the roller at 60°C before using hot air to dry it. This helps prevent damp odours and bacteria from building up between runs.

There are two side brushes, one of which can extend to reach into corners. The mop roller also moves outwards, giving the E35 better coverage along skirting boards and kitchen plinths.

Unlike the Qrevo Edge 2 Flow, however, the E35 cannot cover or shield its roller. It can lift the mop above short-pile carpet, but there is still a risk of damp fabric making contact with deeper flooring. Homes with a varied mix of carpets may be better served elsewhere.

The DuoSpiral main brush has a gap through its centre. Hair is designed to move towards this opening before being pulled into the bin, reducing the chance of it becoming tangled around the roller.

Features

  • Simple-to-use app
  • Furniture in app isn’t that useful
  • No mop-only mode

Setup through the Eufy app is straightforward. After connecting to Wi-Fi, the robot performs a short mapping run and automatically divides the floor plan into rooms. Any mistakes are easy to correct by merging or splitting spaces.

You can add no-go zones, specify carpet and hard-floor materials, and position furniture on the map. Furniture markers are of limited use, though. Rival apps let you tap a dining table or sofa for quick local cleaning, whereas Eufy’s furniture icons are purely visual.

Cleaning can cover the entire home, selected rooms or a custom zone drawn on the map. Those are the options I would expect from any modern robot vacuum.

Mode selection is more limited. The E35 can vacuum and mop together or vacuum on its own, but there is no dedicated mop-only option. That feels like an unnecessary omission, although it is common across Eufy’s range.

Vacuuming has three power levels, while a percentage slider controls the amount of water used for mopping. This provides plenty of control, but feels unnecessarily precise. The difference between 48% and 49% is unlikely to be meaningful, and a few clearly defined levels would be simpler.

There are two routing patterns and a choice of one or two cleaning passes. Deep Carpet Cleaning applies two high-suction passes to a selected carpet, while Heavy Stain Deep Mop saturates a room or zone, leaves the water to loosen the dirt and then returns for a deeper clean.

The latter mode works well, although drawing a suitable zone can be awkward if the required box crosses a wall on the map. Selecting the entire room is often easier.

Performance

  • Excellent suction
  • Class-leading edge cleaning
  • Strong mopping with most stains

I tested the Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 around the The Ambient’s Home Technology Lab, starting with flour scattered across carpet.

Its 35,000Pa suction rating makes the E35 one of the most powerful robot vacuums on paper, and its real-world performance was impressive. Most of the flour disappeared during the first run, although a couple of small patches were missed because of the robot’s coverage pattern. A second pass removed the rest.

Results were similarly strong on hard flooring, where the E35 collected all of the test debris within two passes.

Edge cleaning was outstanding. With flour pushed against a kitchen plinth, the extending brush and roller collected almost everything, leaving only a tiny trace behind. That is as good as, and in some cases better than, the results I have seen from flagship models.

Mopping performance was also very good. The roller removed a dried coffee stain within two passes, while red wine disappeared just as quickly.

The mud test combined loose debris with a dried-on mark. The vacuum collected the dry particles before the roller mop removed the remaining dirt without difficulty.

Dried ketchup proved considerably tougher. After two standard passes, much of the stain remained, and even the Heavy Stain Deep Mop mode struggled to clear it completely.

Pretreating the area with kitchen cleaner produced a far better result. After two more cleaning runs, the E35 removed almost all of the ketchup, leaving only a tiny trace. It needed some help, but the process was still easier than scrubbing the stain manually.

Navigation is excellent. The E35 recognised and avoided shoes, socks, cables and fake pet mess without colliding with them or getting stuck.

Battery life is equally dependable. It completed multiple cleaning passes around the lab and still had enough charge remaining for additional spot cleaning.

Final thoughts

The Eufy Robot Vacuum Omni E35 is all about sensible compromises. Its closest rival, the Roborock Qrevo Edge 2 Flow, has a better app, a lower profile and a roller cover that makes it more suitable for mixed flooring. It also offers similar suction and vacuuming performance for less.

The E35 fights back with superior edge cleaning, more effective mopping and automatic detergent dispensing. Its obstacle avoidance is excellent, too, making it a dependable option for busy homes.

It is not quite a flagship robot, but it gets surprisingly close where it matters. If your home is mostly hard flooring, with perhaps some short-pile carpet, the E35 offers powerful and largely hands-off cleaning at a competitive price. How we test

When we publish our reviews, you can rest assured that they are the result of “living with” long term tests.

Robot cleaners usually live within an ecosystem, or a range of products that – supposedly – all work in harmony. And they are designed to offer a range of different cleaning options. Therefore, it’s impossible to use a robo cleaner for a week and deliver a verdict.

Because we’re testing smart home kit all day, everyday, we know what matters and how a particular smart cleaning machine compares to alternatives that you might also be considering.

Our reviews are comprehensive, objective and fair and, of course, we are never paid directly to review a device.
