GoveeLife is taking aim at one of the biggest complaints about home nugget ice makers: noise.
Unveiled ahead of CES 2026, the Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro promises fast, high-volume ice production without the rattling, grinding soundtrack that usually comes with it.
At its core, this is a serious bit of kitchen kit. The machine can start producing nugget ice in as little as six minutes and churn out up to 60 pounds per day, thanks to a 96W compressor, DC motor, and upgraded cooling system.
That’s more than enough for daily use or hosting, with a thickened ice basket that holds 3.5 pounds and keeps ice frozen for hours.
Big and quiet
What really sets it apart, though, is AI NoiseGuard. Nugget ice makers are notoriously loud due to freeze-ups inside the evaporator, but GoveeLife claims its AI model can detect those events with over 90% accuracy and trigger defrosting automatically. The result is operation as low as 40dB, roughly equivalent to a quiet library or soft conversation, a rare claim in this category.
Capacity is another highlight. A dual-tank system combines a 2.2L built-in reservoir with a 4.9L detachable tank, allowing up to 15.6 pounds of ice in a single run. That’s roughly enough for 60 iced drinks, making it far more party-friendly than most countertop rivals.
The Pro model also leans heavily into smart features. A 4.45-inch LCD touchscreen and LED status bar handle on-device control, while the Govee Home app lets you schedule ice making, receive low-water alerts, and trigger cleaning remotely. It also supports Google Home and Amazon Alexa, so it fits neatly into an existing smart home setup.
Maintenance looks refreshingly painless, too. Dual self-cleaning modes cover both quick rinses and deeper cleans, cutting down on the usual upkeep hassle.
The Smart Nugget Ice Maker Pro will be shown at CES 2026 before going on sale from January 15 in the US via Amazon, Govee, Walmart, and Best Buy. Pricing is set at $499.99, with early buyers getting a free GoveeLife Air Purifier and a small launch discount.
It’s not cheap, but for anyone serious about nugget ice and tired of noisy machines, this might be the most compelling home option yet.
