The Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal is a new robot vacuum and mop that aims to revolutionise smart home cleaning with its advanced technology. Its standout feature is the integration of UV light and an RGB camera, which work together to detect dirt and stains that are often invisible to the naked eye.
This includes dried-on pet messes, fine dust, and certain food spills. In identifying these hidden messes, the robot can target them more effectively than models that rely solely on visible light.
When a spill is detected, the robot automatically engages its HyperSonic Mopping system. This high-speed scrubbing and pressurized water delivery process is specifically engineered to tackle stubborn, dried-on messes, delivering a deep clean beyond simple surface wiping.
Intelligence is central to this model’s design. Navigation is powered by on-device sensors, cameras, and Shark’s proprietary NeuroNav AI. Furthermore, it incorporates eight distinct PowerDetect technologies that allow it to sense and adapt to different floor types and obstacles, placing it in direct competition with high-end rivals like Roborock and Dreame. A key differentiator is the robot’s ability to boost suction power or mopping intensity on specific floor types, ensuring optimized cleaning across the entire home.
The vacuum’s companion, the ThermaCharged NeverTouch Pro Base, serves as a comprehensive self-emptying, cleaning, and sanitizing station. The innovative ThermaCharged feature uses heat to dry the mop pads after cleaning. This crucial step helps prevent the growth of mildew and the unpleasant odors commonly associated with other self-cleaning robot mops, promoting a more hygienic home environment.
The Shark PowerDetect UV Reveal is currently available in the US for $1,299.
