Apple will sell its smart display in countertop and wall-mounted versions under the HomeView name from mid-November.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that the countertop model sits on a metal speaker base, while the wall-mounted version uses a flat, square base that lets owners fix the screen in place as a home control panel.
Both versions run on the A18 chip that first appeared in the iPhone 16, and the display places Siri at the centre as a command hub for connected accessories across an Apple-powered smart home.
That Siri focus pits Apple against Amazon’s Echo Show and Google’s Nest Hub range, two smart display lines that have served as control centres for rival ecosystems while Apple relied on HomePod and Apple TV units as HomeKit hubs.
Apple’s answer to those rivals has circulated in reports for more than a year, often under the HomePad name, before Gurman’s latest newsletter attached the HomeView label to the finished product.
Apple TV and HomePod mini updates alongside the display
The display will not arrive alone, as Gurman expects Apple to introduce a new Apple TV set-top box with an A19 chip and an updated HomePod mini running on an S10 chip at the same event.
That smaller speaker extends voice control, music playback and other functions throughout the household, and its S10 chip comes from the same processor family Apple uses across its Apple Watch range.
Apple will likely reveal all three devices at its Welcome Home event on Tuesday 13 October, after sending invitations last Thursday that featured a rainbow-coloured version of the company logo.
Buyers will not have long to wait after the announcement, with HomeView shipments set to begin in mid-November, though Apple has not yet confirmed pricing for the display or the two accompanying devices.
