SwitchBot has launched a new pair of RGBICWW Light Bars that combine colourful ambient lighting with practical white light, while also supporting Matter over Wi-Fi for easier smart home integration.
The new light bars are designed primarily for desks and entertainment setups, with 12 independently controllable colour zones across the pair. Each bar has six zones, allowing multiple colours to appear at once rather than simply displaying a single colour.
SwitchBot says the lights support 16 million colours and have 26 preset dynamic effects for gaming, movies, parties and other scenes. The lights also have a built-in microphone for music-reactive lighting, with six effects that respond to the rhythm of whatever is playing.
But unlike some RGB light bars that are mainly about colourful effects, the RGBICWW Light Bars also have dedicated cool- and warm-white LEDs. The colour temperature can be adjusted from 2200K to 6500K. Together, the two bars can produce up to 800 lumens of white light, making them useful for working or reading as well as creating a more atmospheric setup.
The bars can be positioned horizontally or vertically, and built-in magnets make them easy to attach to compatible metal surfaces. There’s also adhesive mounting for surfaces without magnets, so they can be placed around monitors, TVs, shelves or furniture, or hidden behind them for indirect lighting.
The other big addition is Matter over Wi-Fi. The lights can connect directly to compatible smart home platforms without requiring a SwitchBot Hub, with support for Apple Home, Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, Home Assistant and Homey.
The SwitchBot app provides more detailed controls, including individual colour zones, effects, schedules, timers and automations. There’s also API support, which lets users connect AI agents and use different lighting effects to show whether an agent is thinking, working or has completed a task.
The SwitchBot RGBICWW Light Bars are available now for $45.99 / £55.99 / CA$59.99. That makes them a relatively cheap way to add Matter-compatible ambient lighting to a desk or entertainment setup, particularly if you want both colourful effects and useful everyday illumination.
