Philips Hue has released a wall light module that lets Nanoleaf Shapes panels run directly from the Hue app.
The module plugs straight into a free port on a Nanoleaf Shapes panel. At around 7.87 centimetres long, the module looks a lot like the original Nanoleaf controller, and it works with the Triangle, Mini Triangle, and Hexagon versions of Shapes, letting the Hue app pull in up to 100 panels and treat them as a normal light source alongside every other Hue device in the house.
That means the panels can slot straight into scenes, automations, and schedules the same way a Hue bulb does, a move that puts one more piece of a mixed smart lighting setup under a single app instead of two.
Product images only show the standard Hue scenes and effects alongside five colour pickers that can be combined with them.
That points to a simpler integration than what Nanoleaf’s own app offers, rather than a full transfer of its usual animation library, so anyone who wants the fancier effects may still need to reach for the Nanoleaf app now and then.
Through the Hue Bridge, the module can also join a Matter network. Bluetooth and Zigbee are the two protocols named for the module, which lines up with how the rest of the Hue lineup already talks to the Bridge and to other devices.
