Tado has announced a multi-home management feature that allows users to control smart thermostats across up to five properties from a single account, with the update arriving this summer for all Tado X, V3+, and Smart AC Control users at no additional cost.
The feature addresses one of the most commonly requested additions from tado’s user base, covering practical scenarios such as pre-heating a holiday home before arrival or managing the climate settings in an elderly relative’s property without requiring the resident to operate the system themselves.
Cross-generation compatibility forms a significant part of the update, as users can now manage different Tado product lines within the same account for the first time, running a Tado X installation in one property alongside a V3+ setup in another from a single mobile interface.
That same account structure extends to tado’s Smart AC Control hardware, allowing users to oversee cooling in one property and heating in another without switching between separate accounts or applications, a limitation of the current system.
Role management also features within the multi-home setup, with one account holder designated as admin with full control rights while other residents retain the ability to view, adjust, and install Tado thermostats within their assigned properties.
Tado is also expanding its subscription benefits to coincide with the launch, with a single AI Assist or Auto-Assist subscription now covering all properties under one admin account rather than requiring a separate payment per home, at a cost of €3.99 per month or €29.99 per year.
That subscription unlocks automated geofencing across all linked properties simultaneously, with the system able to reduce heating at a departing residence while pre-conditioning the destination property before the user arrives, alongside Open Window Detection and Adaptive Heating across the full account.
The multi-home feature is scheduled to roll out during summer 2026, with availability confirmed for existing Tado X, V3+, and Smart AC Control hardware without requiring additional equipment purchases.
