As excited as I am about Wi-Fi 7 becoming the standard, I have to admit, the technology is expensive right now – unless you buy the Amazon eero 7, of course.
As a testament to how costly cutting-edge networking equipment is, Amazon’s own brand Eero is far from the most expensive option available, yet even its systems cost a fair bit. For example, a two-pack of the Amazon eero 7 dual-band mesh Wi-Fi 7 router would normally set you back $279.99.
Right now, Amazon has brought that price down to just $229.99 on the eero 7, letting you save a sizeable $50 on the full cost.

Even though networking equipment tends to have a long shelf life, the Amazon eero 7 is still more than worth picking up right now for its next-gen Wi-Fi 7 performance. If you use an internet plan that supports speeds of up to 2.5 Gbps, then this is the router for you.
If you have yet to upgrade to a Wi-Fi 7 compatible internet plan, then never fear, the Amazon eero 7 works with your existing internet connection just fine; it just won’t be able to bring out the best of it until you do make that leap.
With Wi-Fi 7, however, you should start to notice some major differences across your devices. The two bands, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, have been known to struggle against network congestion, but this newer technology aims to alleviate that issue.
In his review for the Amazon eero 7, Home Technology Editor David Ludlow had this to say: “Attractively priced, the Eero 7 is fast when there’s no interference, but not as quick when there’s a lot. If you live out in the country with few wireless networks around you, this is a cheap and reliable mesh system.”
As a mesh system, there’s a degree of intelligence built into the eero 7, which allows your connected devices to seamlessly hop between different routers as you move about your home, ensuring that you always have a steady connection and that dead zones are reduced effectively.
You can also expect a very quick and easy setup to get you up and running from the get-go. Once in place, you can use Eero’s user-friendly app to manage your network, see which devices are connected, and even amend certain parental controls on the fly.
Not only is the Amazon eero 7 an affordable option compared to the competing Wi-Fi 7 systems on the market right now, but at this price, it’s the perfect pick for those looking to future-proof their home network.

A considerably cheaper Wi-Fi 7 mesh system than we’ve seen before, the Eero 7 gets the price down by ditching the 6GHz network band. How much difference that makes depends on where you live: if you have lots of other Wi-Fi networks around you, this system won’t be that fast; if you live in a congestion-free area (or can place a satellite in one to expand an Eero system), this system can be very fast with Wi-Fi 7 clients. Overall, it’s a solid system, but don’t let the 7 in the name sway your decision.
