Fantastical can now trigger alarms for events and tasks

Apple introduced a new developer tool in iOS 26 called AlarmKit. The latest version of Fantastical for iPhone and iPad adopts it.

For users, this means tasks and events in Fantastical can now have much more prominent alerts. It’s much harder to ignore a persistent alarm than a standard notification.

Here are some of the key features in today’s Fantastical iOS update:

  • Added support for triggering an alarm from tasks and events
  • Month view now separates months and highlights the selected one more prominently
  • Added support for using both timed and all-day events in a recurring series
  • Added a menu bar menu item to hide and unhide events: Edit > Hide
  • Google Tasks assigned from Google Docs will appear in Fantastical

Meanwhile, the Mac version of Fantastical now includes a new menu bar customization: “Added a menu bar menu item to hide and unhide events: Edit > Hide.”

You can learn more about the latest changes to Fantastical here. Other details include configurable Apple Watch complications.

Apple similarly adopted AlarmKit in its task manager app with Reminders in iOS 26.2 last fall.
